Following the success of the Day of Dance Workshop last year run by Independent Ballet Wales, we will be running another workshop this September. The workshop will include a ballet class run by the dancers of IBW, a chance to meet & get to know the dancers, plus the opportunity to see their new performance of the Lady of the Lake.

Monmouthshire Youth Ballet "Les Syllphides"
Congratulations to all of our young dancers who performed brilliantly in the Monmouthshire Youth Ballet performance of "Les Syllphides" at the Blake Theatre Monmouth. The students all had a very rewarding experience throughout the intensive training period culminating in a great performance.

This week a number of young dancers from A1 Dance Academy will perform in " Les Syllphides at the Blake Theatre Monmouth. Good luck to Annabelle Clarke, Menna Cadwallader, Holly Peters, Phoebe West, Chloe Evans, Taryn Birkett, Darcy Birkett, Melissa Kolic and Paris Mitchel & we hope they have a wonderful time. Congratulations to all our A1 Dance Academy students who recently auditioned & have been offered places in Monmouthshire Youth Ballet's upcoming production of "Les Sylphides" at The Blake Theatre in February.
With special congratulations to those who have been awarded Scholarships!

Brilliant day of ballet with Independent Ballet Wales
Young dancers from A1 Dance Academy in Monmouth were recently treated to a great day of ballet with a series of dance workshops run by professional dancers from Independent Ballet Wales.
The students of all ages enjoyed taking part in the workshops with a challenging Master Ballet Class run by the Director of IBW Darius James for the seniors & a fun ballet class for the juniors ending in a short performance by the girls & boys.
As well as the classes, IBW dancers chatted to the students about the ballet company & performed dances from the ballets they are currently performing on tour. To round off the experience, the students enjoyed a wonderful performance by IBW of "How Green Was My Valley" at the Riverfront Theatre, Newport.

There will be two classes held in the Dance Studio at Monmouth Leisure Centre on Sunday 13th September. Juniors 8 to 11 years & Seniors age 12 years & over. Each class will be run by Independent Ballet Wales dancers, so you will get to meet & dance with professional dancers & get to know all about their upcoming performance, before going to see the performance on 19th September at the Riverfront Theatre in Newport.

The I.S.T.D has introduced a fab & exciting new Tap Syllabus for Primary up to Grade Three which we will be starting learn in September.
The R.A.D. has also updated their Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet Syllabi which will also be taught from September. This will mean a change in uniform for the new classes, so when you need to buy a new uniform, please ring Jill at Greenwy Trading 01594 825359 and she can advise what you will need.
